The armrest is a $200 stand-alone option. Solution: don't order it.

Any time. I think you should see me weekly though.

Thanks for the psychoanalysis. The reason that "real drivers" don't use the center speedo is two fold. (1) It forces you to take your eyes away from your intended path, and (2) the center speedo is typically off by a few mph (or kph) while the digital readout is generally more accurate.

"Real Drivers"? What, the way you configure your readouts is the only acceptable way and the rest of us are just idiots? What an ego.

There's a digital speedo inside the tach that is much more useful than the center-mounted one. As a result, I don't get why all of these reviews whine about the big one. Real drivers don't use it.

I can now say the speedometer is truly a crappy design. Not because it's busy, but because the numbers are only marked every 20 mph (on the odd numbers no less; 10, 30, 50, 70 etc) because there are no marks at all for 5mph increments. Thus, the unmarked line representing '40 mph' is the first mark after 30 mph and always looks like '35 mph' to me.

nice review, good point-outs, i just hate that pillar looking thing in the rear windsheild

I actually like the speedometer. I don't find that it's "busy" at all. Also, the separation between the windows in the back isn't a big deal at all. There's really no reason to complain about it as it doesn't obstruct your vision noticeably.

I love how this guy points out really practical things you only learn from experience. Like the rear pillar blocking the mirror, they somehow forgot to mention that feature on the official Mini websites.

The space is too small in the back. I want my friends to feel comfortable, not squeezed in. Overall, the new coopers seems pretty nice. |
